FAQs
The Troop-Air Pro is designed to layer under any motorcycle jacket or waterproof shell with sufficient interior space. It does not require Alpinestars-specific integration points. The slim, stretch-mesh construction is engineered to sit flat against the body without creating pressure points under an outer layer. It pairs particularly well with the Alpinestars Andes V3 Drystar and Halo Pro Drystar XF, which have interior room calibrated for use with an armored inner layer.
2D Tech Mesh is a woven mesh construction with a two-directional weave structure, as opposed to standard knitted mesh. The weave provides greater dimensional stability — the fabric retains its shape and position under stress rather than stretching in multiple directions — which keeps the armor pockets correctly aligned on the body during riding and impact. Standard knitted mesh can stretch out of position. The 2D structure also provides higher tear resistance in the exposed shoulder and elbow zones where initial road contact occurs in a slide.
Three differences: (1) CE classification: Troop-Air Pro is CE AA Class; standard Troop-Air is CE Class A. (2) Armor level: Pro includes Level 2 Nucleon Flex Pro shoulder and elbow protectors; standard includes Level 1 Nucleon Flex Plus. (3) Inner arm material: Pro uses lightweight stretch fabric for better airflow; standard uses stretch mesh inserts. Both accept chest and back inserts, but the Pro accepts Level 2 inserts as standard, while the standard Troop-Air accommodates Level 2 Nucleon CELL Back Inserts as an upgrade.
Yes, the Troop-Air Pro jacket is Tech-Air Ready, this means it is compatible with our Tech-Air Systems, but due to the Urban style of the jacket the ideal systems are the Tech-Air 5 Plasma and Tech-Air 3 V2 systems.
