pedro acosta’s dream maiden motogp win delivers for ktm “at home” in the grand prix of austria

Pedro Acosta bounced back from misfortune on Saturday to deliver his first MotoGP victory in spectacular style on Sunday, at his team’s home race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. Acosta hit the front on Lap 9, overtaking eventual runner-up Jorge Martin on the run down to Turn 2a, and then managed the gap to the end of the 28-Lap feature race. 

Martin’s second-place finish extends his lead in the championship standings to 12 points from Marc Marquez as the premier class heads to Japan. 

Ai Ogura finished fourth, Marquez fifth, Pecco Bagnaia was seventh, and Fabio Di Giannantonio ninth, all Alpinestars riders.
